Bettoja Hotels
In 1870 Rome becomes the Capital of the Kingdom of Italy, and in 1875 Maurizio Bettoja, a wine merchant from Piedmont, acquires the Massimo d'Azeglio restaurant, originally a tavern, that opened in nearby St. Mary Major’s square for the Jubilee of 1575.
The group has grown through five generations of Bettojas to establish itself as the oldest and one of the largest private hotel group in Italy: four hotels in Rome and one in Florence, totalling 730 rooms.
The president of Bettoja Hotels is Angelo Bettoja, friendly host, great traveller and gourmet chef.
